Jordan Henderson deserves to be the Premier League’s player of the year, according to teammate Andrew Robertson.
Henderson has been consistent and reliable at all times and should be getting more recognition.
This is according to Andrew Robertson who believes the Liverpool captain has been very influential to his side’s form this season.
Most of the plaudits to Liverpool are given to the likes of Van Dijk, Salah and Mane..with the left-back claiming Henderson is equally as important, if not more.
Henderson is not one to score lots of goals and do fancy tricks but his presence on the pitch can not be debated.
“For me, I think he’s the leading candidate [for player of the year],” Robertson told Sky Sports News.
“At times this season when we’ve struggled Hendo has been the one that has driven us forward.
“He’s the one who has made sure we don’t get slack, or he has chipped in with some really important goals or really important assists.
“Maybe his performances at the start of the season went a little bit under the radar, but as the season has progressed he’s not really had a bad game.”
With lots of pundits and players voicing out recently, Henderson might actually be in with a good shout for player of the year.
