Brendan Rodgers has hinted that James Madison is set to extend his stay at Leicester City putting an end to rumors about his future.
The England midfielder arrived at the King Power Stadium back in 2018 from then Championship side Norwich City.
His consistent form has led him to be linked with a move away from Leicester since last summer.
The Foxes are keen to hold on to Maddison. They hope a new and improved contract will keep him at the club beyond 2020.
In an interview reported by The Express, former Liverpool boss Rodgers is confident that the player is happy at Leicester. The player has hinted he wants to stay beyond his current deal.
“It has been ongoing with the club and his representatives.”
“The boy is very happy.”
“He wants to be here and he sees this as the club he can develop at.”
“I am hopeful it will be done.”
This will not stop the rumors. Both Maddison and Grealish of Aston Villa are rumored to be part of a new-look Manchester United next season.
