Manchester City midfielder Rodri insists that there is still plenty to do against Real Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League clash.

Manchester City lead Real Madrid two-one following the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 first-leg clash at the Santiago Bernabeu.

City has a one-goal lead as well as two away goals. However, the former Atletico Madrid and Valencia player Rodri has plenty of experience when it comes to facing Los Blancos.

Speaking to Diario AS he said:

“I don’t trust any scoreline against Madrid, even though we won 2-1.”

“It is Madrid and they are far from finished. We have a better team and we showed it in the first leg, but there is one step to take.”

“We have to respect our opponents, we have to go for the victory because, if not, we will be in trouble.”

“Eliminating Madrid, who have won three Champions League titles in a row and have been so powerful in recent years in Europe, would give us a lot of morale and confidence to say that it can be done.”

“But there are great teams in Europe, not just Madrid.”

Could this Manchester City team be another of those who quite simply didn’t have what it takes to lift the coveted trophy?
