Rodrygo has revealed that he is disappointed for not being able to play aside Ronaldo.
Rodrygo has shifted straight to fifth gear for Los Blancos in recent weeks. The Brazil forward scored a brilliant hat-trick in Istanbul to announce his European debut to the world. In just six games, Rodrygo has scored five goals for Real Madrid.
Rodrygo has revealed that he is enjoying the excellent start to his career. But the 18-year old said that he himself was not ready for his fast-paced improvement. Despite his good start, the Real Madrid forward has desired not to be burdened with Ronaldo’s pressure.
“I had the dream of playing with Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid and it’s a shame that he left,” Rodrygo said in a report by Marca.
“But I don’t want to carry the pressure of replacing Cristiano. I didn’t expect everything to happen so fast, not even in my dreams.
“A few weeks ago, I was thinking of making my debut in the Champions League. I don’t know how to explain my feelings after the hat-trick. It was definitely unique and special.”
“I talk a lot with Raul, he was my coach at Castilla and he always gives me good pieces of advice,” Rodrygo said.
“My career at this club has just started and I hope one day that I can be as great as he was. I don’t feel pressure, I’m enjoying this moment.”
