AS Roma have agreed to sign Gonzalo Higuain on a season long loan spell but it appears that the striker is yet to accept the move.
Roma have reportedly agreed a deal to bring Gonzalo Huguain to the Stadio Olympico this summer.
The Argentine international’s future at Juventus is up in the air despite the arrival of Maurizio Sarri. The pair enjoy a really strong bond off and on the field. However, Sarri is keen on adding another striker to his fold with Mauro Icardi touted as a potential signing.
And this puts Higuain in a difficult position. The striker spent last season on loan at Chelsea and is now surplus to requirements in Turin.
However, Corriere dello Sport claims that while Juventus have already agreed to send the player on loan with an option to purchase, the striker is yet to accept the move. Higuain is keen on staying with Juventus and prove himself to the club.
Roma on the other hand, are eager to sign a striker with Eden Dzeko reportedly looking to leave. The Bosnian international is getting some interest from Inter Milan. While Antonio Conte is keen on signing Romelu Lukaku from Manchester United, the club’s inability to meet the asking price may force Inter into going for Dzeko who is a proven goal scorer in Italy.
Higuain on the other hand, is unlikely to get a lot of chances to impress next season. While the Juventus project has become stronger than ever following the arrival of Matthijs de Ligt from Ajax, Higuain is unlikely to be considered a valuable part of it.
And with the striker not being able to showcase the form that made him one of the most fearsome strikers in Europe while at Napoli, a move away from the club is definitely on the cards.
