AS Roma have reportedly set their sights on Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes, claims Gianluca Di Marzio
The 23-year-old is currently attempting to rescind his contract at Sporting along with several of his teammates.
Fernandes has been named as part of the Portugal World Cup squad after having a breakthrough season at Sporting and is expected to be in high demand in this summer’s transfer market.
While Roma have already added four new players to his squad, the Giallorossi are interested in pursuing a move for Fernandes due to the uncertain future of Radja Nainggolan.
Recently reports in Italy have emerged that Inter Milan are preparing a €29m deal for Nainggolan and that a deal could be completed on July 1, which would then force Roma to look for a replacement.
Fernandes scored 11 goals and added eight assists in 33 appearances for Sporting last season in the Primeira Liga.
