With Internazionale looking for a striker, Romelu Lukaku has cast further doubt into his Manchester United future by admitting that this could be a busy summer for him.
Things haven’t been that happy for Romelu Lukaku ever since the Belgian signed for Manchester United from Everton. The striker has failed to live up to expectations and has not been able to develop as a player.
Issues such as holding the ball, controlling it and even dribbling past one defender have seen fans ridicule him on all platforms. Even though Lukaku has scored a decent amount of goals, it is clear that his future lies beyond Old Trafford.
Antonio Conte has been recently appointed as Inter’s new manager. The former Chelsea manager is apparently a big fan of the big Belgian. Rumours suggest that Conte is keen on signing a striker who he believes to play a crucial road in the club’s rebuilding process.
And Lukaku has not dampen any suggestions about his departure from United either. The striker helped Scotland to a 3-0 win in Brussels by scoring one goal. Following the win, the striker admitted that he expects things to happen for him this summer.
“I’ll speak with my club and my agent Federico Pastorello to make the best decision,” he said according to the Independent. “I am going to enjoy my holidays with my family now. I know what I’ll do, but won’t say it. We’ll see .Do I expect a busy summer? Yes.”
“I’ve had a difficult season at club level,” he said. “I lost my place and haven’t played much.
“But that is a phase in my career and it will help me for the next step.”
However, national team manager, Roberto Martinez is happy with Lukaku.
“I just feel sometimes a bit sad when I don’t see Rom enjoying his football,” Martinez said.
“When he enjoys his football he’s a lethal goalscorer.”
