Ronaldinho has tipped his fellow Brazilian Vinicius Junior to become one of the world’s best players in no time at all with Real Madrid.
Ronaldinho, like many others, has been keeping tabs on Vinicius’ progress at Real Madrid following a stunning debut campaign.
The 19-year-old was nothing short of exceptional following a €46m transfer from Flamengo in 2018. In fact, he had a direct hand in 15 goals in his opening 28 appearances for Los Blancos.
Although Zinedine Zidane’s return has restricted Vinicius’ opportunities of late. So far, he has made 11 appearances this season with only three them as a starter.
But Ronaldinho remains optimistic over the teenager’s prospects in the near future.
“[Vinicius] is already at one of the best clubs in the world,” the former Barcelona star told reporters in Colombia.
“I think he will soon be there, among the best.”
Although Zidane may opt to give Vinicius more chances in the line-up ahead of a challenging schedule for Real. For the first of three away games in the space of a week on Saturday, they will meet RCD Mallorca.
Galatasaray in the Champions League will come just three days later before Real meet Barcelona at Camp Nou on October 26.
“I hope it’s a great game, that it has many goals and that the big names show up,” said Ronaldinho.
Although there is a possibility the upcoming Clasico will be moved to Real’s home ground in the Santiago Bernabeu due to the political unrest in Catalonia.
