The former Manchester United man appears to be keeping tabs on a compatriot of his who shares a similar career path as his own.
Bruno Fernandes was on fire when he took to the pitch for Manchester United’s most recent Champions League match, and his performance has earned the seal of approval from Cristiano Ronaldo.
The attacking midfielder bagged two goals in the opening 20 minutes of the 4-1 win against Istanbul Basaksehir.
He opened the scoring just seven minutes into the match, scoring an exquisite half-volley from the edge of the penalty area before tapping home from close range for his second.
The 26-year-old then passed up a golden opportunity to triple his tally on the night as he handed a penalty over to Marcus Rashford.
Fernandes took to Instagram to celebrate his heroics after the match, uploading a photo of his with thumb in mouth.
Ronaldo, who was also in action for Juventus on Friday night against Ferencvaros, gave the Man United man’s post a ‘like’.
Juan Mata and Alex Telles, along with 455,520 of his other followers, at the time of writing, liked his photo.
Ronaldo, just like Fernandes, started his career with Sporting before making a name for himself at Manchester United, and it appears he is keeping tabs on his compatriot.
