A familiar face greeted Cristiano Ronaldo as he arrived in the UK, while countless Manchester United fans queue up for his No.7 jersey.

Cristiano Ronaldo arrived in England on Thursday evening after being excused from international duty for Portugal.

Ronaldo’s former Manchester United teammate Darren Fletcher, who now works as the club’s technical director, greeted CR7 as he arrived at a private terminal at Manchester Airport.

Manchester United confirmed the news on Friday night, over 24 hours after the forward and his family had arrived. The Red Devils plan to welcome Cristiano back to training next week in Carrington but didn’t state when.

The Portuguese ace hopes to make his second United debut on September 11 in a Premier League match against Newcastle at Old Trafford. He is also included in the club’s 25-man Champions League squad.

Fans queue for ‘hours’ to buy CR7’s new shirt

Since United confirmed Ronaldo will wear the iconic No.7 jersey again, fans have rushed out to get a replica of the superstar’s shirt.

The Red Devils supporters have been queuing up for hours outside United’s official club shop at Old Trafford. The demand for CR7 shirts has been huge, so much that the shop ran out of stock. The Independent has claimed some determined fans, who didn’t want to leave empty-handed, spent ‘a couple of hours’ queued outside.
