Wojciech Szczesny is fairly confident that Cristiano Ronaldo will step up yet again to turn the tie in Juventus’ favor against Lyon.

After capturing the Scudetto for the ninth consecutive time, Juventus will now turn their attention to Europe’s most prestigious club competition – the Champions League.

Juve encountered disappointment in the away leg of the competition’s Round of 16 fixture, succumbing to Lyon in a 1-0 defeat.

They now await the opportunity to right the wrong as they prepare for the home leg in the coming weekend.

Cristiano Ronaldo has often turned up as the team’s benefactor in times of crisis such as these. Ronaldo on several occasions has pulled his side from depths of despair, including scoring a hat-trick last season to produce a turnaround against Atletico Madrid.

Wojciech Szczesny is hoping the Portuguese ace to deliver once again as he discusses the preparations ahead of the crucial tie.

Szczesny told Tuttosport: “I see a team ready, there is an environment similar to last year before the match against Atletico Madrid.

“We can do it again this year. A Ronaldo hat-trick again? Nobody in the world has doubts that Cristiano can do it again. As usual, at the decisive times he makes the difference, he is ready to perform another miracle.

“We are playing for an important goal, finding the motivation is not difficult, we are all concentrated.”
