Ronaldo remains the world’s best goalscorer ahead of Messi, European Golden Shoe winner Immobile, and Lewandowski.
The CIES Football Observatory has examined 127 footballers in 94 top leagues around the world to have scored at least 10 goals in 2020, and declared Cristiano Ronaldo as the most effective goalscorer on the planet.
The sports research center weighed Ronaldo’s 22 goals this year with the level of competitiveness in the competitions he scored in (Serie A, Champions League, etc) using their coefficient ranking.
The study showed the Juventus ace remains the best in the business with a ranking of 20.0 on the CEIS website. Ciro Immobile came second on 17.3, and Robert Lewandowski completed the top-three on 15.3.
While Lionel Messi came home SEVENTH with a ranking of 12.0.
Funny enough, the CIES named 33-year-old Brazilian Junior Negao as the top goalscorer of 2020 on 24 goals in 22 games for South Korean side Ulsan Hyundai in the K League 1.
