Ronaldo finally gave his verdict on his gesture against Maurizio Sarri and admitted that Sarri was right.
Cristiano Ronaldo left the pitch a few minutes before the hour mark in Juventus’ last match against AC Milan. The forward was not very convinced with his substitution and showed visible signs of frustration.
Since then, Ronaldo has been criticized by a number of players and managers for his action. But, after his side’s 2-0 victory against Luxembourg, the Portuguese has come clean in a post match conference.
Cristiano Ronaldo admitted that his coach was right in taking him off the pitch. He also justified Sarri’s decision by saying that he was indeed playing through an injury. Just as the Italian mentioned earlier.
The former Real Madrid man declared that he was unhappy with leaving the field. And despite being criticized, he assured that his gestures were acceptable.
“In the last three weeks, I have been limited. Everyone knows that I don’t like to be substituted,” Ronaldo said as reported by Football Italia.
“But there was no problem in my gestures after the change. I tried to help Juventus by playing injured.
“No one likes to be replaced, but I understand it, because I wasn’t well in those two games. I wasn’t 100%.”
