Ronaldo calls for “education and respect” after Koulibaly incident

Cristiano Ronaldo has sent Kalidou Koulibaly a message of support after he was allegedly abused in Napoli’s Boxing Day defeat to Inter Milan

The Senegalese defender was sent off at the San Siro with two yellow cards in quick succession.

But Koulibaly was reportedly subjected to monkey chants during the Serie A game with Napoli coach Carlo Ancelotti suggesting afterwards that the 27-year-old lost his cool as a result.

Now Juventus star Ronaldo has taken to social media to condemn the supporters’ actions.

“I always want education and respect in life and football. No to racism any other type of offence and discrimination!!!” Ronaldo wrote on Instagram.

Neville is delighted Sanchez is leaving United

Chilean footballer Alexis Sanchez is said to be leaving the Red Devils after only two seasons playing with them in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Koulibaly wrote: “I am proud of the colour of my skin. Proud to be French, Senegalese, Neapolitan: a man.”

An injury-time winner from Lautaro Martinez gave Inter victory at the San Siro against 10-man Napoli on Wednesday.
