23-year old wide forward Nicolas Pepe has been the most pleasant surprise for the 2018-19 campaign in French football. He was Lille’s best player, guiding the club from last year’s 17th to the second place on the Ligue 1 table.
Nicolas Pépé is the first player in Ligue 1 this season to reach double figures for goals *and* assists.

Pepe is the only player with Angel Di Maria to note a double-digit number of both goals and assists, netting 20 times and providing 11. He is the second best goalscorer and the second best assisst-provider in the French League.
The Ivorian is a quick winger, who is really good with the ball. He has also noted 96 successful dribbles and is the only player in Ligue 1 to win more than 100 fouls.
Pepe has established himself as a rising star this season, with many European giants being interested to secure his signature in the following summer. There is a small chance to stay at Lille though, especially if Les Dogues manage to secure Champions League football for the next campaign.
