The Manchester United star has revealed the ‘important’ advice club legend Ronaldo gave him prior to his Old Trafford move.
Cristiano Ronaldo offered Bruno Fernandes some useful advice on joining Manchester United and on how to play at his very best.
The 26-year-old followed in the footsteps of the Portuguese icon by signing for the Red Devils last year from Sporting CP. He has since managed an impressive 44 goal contributions (27 goals, 17 assists) in only 47 appearances.
Ronaldo had also advised Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on signing his fellow countrymen, along with former teammate Patrice Evra.
And now Fernandes has opened up on the chat he had with Ronaldo before he put pen-to-paper on a United move.
“Yeah, I spoke with him because he knows the club better than me,” Fernandes told NBC Sport on his chats with Ronaldo.
“He gave me some advice. It was important for me.
“I think I would have joined the club, anyway. But when you speak with Cristiano, it’s always better.
“We just spoke about the club, how it’s so big and how it would be good for me. The opportunity I would have to join such a big club. To have a chance to fight for my trophies. This is the biggest advice he gave to me.
“He said: ‘Just go, enjoy it, you will love the fans, they will love you so just try to enjoy your game and the best of you will come’.”
