Paulo Dybala has been named the Serie A Player of the Year as Cristiano Ronaldo misses out on every MVP award this season.

Lega Serie A have announced the Most Valuable Players (MVPs) of the 2019/2020 season.

Juventus’ Paulo Dybala, who scored 11 goals and registered seven assists to guide his side to their ninth consecutive Scudetto, has been declared the Serie A Player of the Season.

Cristiano Ronaldo was arguably the more influential player in Juve’s title win, with a remarkable return of 31 goals and 4 assists from 33 games. However, he has been unable to retain the accolade he won in his first year at the club.

Italian football’s governing body has named Lazio’s Ciro Immobile as the Serie A’s best striker. Immobile, who scored 36 times from 37 matches, also won the European Golden Boot.

Juventus’ Wojciech Szczesny, Atalanta’s Alejandro Gomez, and Inter Milan’s Stefan de Vrij got the nods for the best goalkeeper, midfielder, and defender respectively.

Lastly, Parma’s 20-year old midfielder Dejan Kulusevski, who will soon join forces with Juve, earned the Young player of the Year award.

As the league’s official website reports, the awards will be handed out on the pitch at the start of the 2020/21 Serie A season.
