The Portuguese phenomenon chose to take a day off just a day after his side’s embarrassing defeat at the hands of rivals AC Milan.
Cristiano Ronaldo skipped a Juventus training session on Monday to visit the Ferrari factory in Maranello, Italy.
Ronaldo was accompanied by Juventus president Andrea Agnelli and John Elkann, chairman and CEO of Ferrari and president of Exor – a company run by Agnelli family controlling both Juventus and Ferrari.
The footballing icon met F1 drives drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz at Ferrari’s Formula One headquarters and posed for a photo with them as they flaunted Juve shirts signed by Ronaldo.
The former Real Madrid and Manchester United star even bought a new Ferrari Monza worth £1.4 million (€1.6m), according to Corriere della Serra.
CR7 has become a subject of criticism lately for the media and fans alike and his decision to skip training just a day after his side’s 3-0 defeat against Milan could make matters even worse for him.
Ronaldo risks missing out on Champions League football next season as Juventus find themselves down at fifth, three points below top-four, in the Serie A standings with just three matches left to play. There are reports he is already considering a move away from the club in the summer, with Manchester United, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and even Sporting named among his possible next destinations.
