Even when he doesn’t score, Cristiano Ronaldo manages to add one or more records to his name. The latest comes after Juve’s Coppa triumph.
Cristiano Ronaldo was not as involved as he would have loved but he yet adds another pair of illustrious records to his name. CR7 was mostly ‘quiet’ as goals from Dejan Kulusevski and Federico Chiesa helped Juve see off Atalanta 2-1 to win the Coppa Italia.
It was the 14th cup triumph for the Bianconeri and Pirlo’s first major trophy as manager of the club.
For Juventus, the trophy was significant in the sense that it saw them avoid a trophyless season. It has been a turbulent season for the reigning Italian champions such that they could be playing Europa League football next term.
For Ronaldo, another triumph in Juve colors, means he continues to etch his name further in the record books.
CR7 continues to conquer all of the major leagues
Firstly, Cristiano Ronaldo is now the first player in HISTORY to win all 3 domestic trophies in three of Europe’s top five leagues. He is exclusive in this category and it would take some feat for someone else to match this.
The Coppa Italia triumph also means Ronaldo has now won every major competition he’s played in for Man United, Real Madrid and Juventus. A stat that indicates he’s a serial winner and loves to win in any territory.
This won’t exactly change the narrative of Juventus’ poor season but it can at least help them ease he wounds of a campaign to forget.
