Massimo Ferrero has joked that Cristiano Ronaldo should have been cautioned after his incredible header for Juventus.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored an incredible header against Sampdoria on Wednesday. The Portuguese forward rose a remarkable 2.56m to attend to Danilo’s cross and head the ball in the back of the net.
After the match, Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero expressed his surprise at the Juve talisman’s leap. Massimo Ferrero insisted that although Sampdoria put in good defensive work, Ronaldo’s brilliance sealed the game for Juventus.
“The team are there, we saw that yesterday against Juve,” he told as Football Italia writes.
“I must say that Ronaldo had to be booked after that leap. It was as if he was taking off like an airplane! Cristiano won the game, but my boys defended well.”
Massimo Ferrero also claimed that manager Claudio Ranieri acts as a countermeasure for the team’s problems. The 68-year old then confirmed that Sampdoria might get their feet wet in the January transfer window.
“We must take some time out to understand [what we need] but, if in January we need to strengthen the team, I’m ready for that,” Massimo Ferrero said.
“Ranieri’s the last emperor, he’s an important man who’s brought serenity to the team. He makes up for the things I do. Ferrero breaks them, Ranieri fixes them.”
