Cristiano Ronaldo continues to be prolific in front of goal and has been tipped to break a major record by the end of the year.
Cristiano Ronaldo has been tipped to become the highest goal-scorer in history for official games by the end of 2021.
His most recent goal against Spezia took him to 767 goals in official matches, a tally that saw him match Brazilian legend Pele. However, there is still some misconception as to how many goals Pele actually scored overall.
Following that strike, Ronaldo now has Romario next in his sights at 772 official goals. Without a doubt, CR7 will be expected to match that in the next couple of games.
As per Gazzetta dello Sport, Ronaldo could beat Josef Bican who currently holds the record and stands at 805 official goals. Based on his current goal-scoring rate and in the absence of any long-term injuries, the Juventus talisman is expected to make this record his own by the end of the year.
It would come as the perfect way to end the year by adding his name to the history books once again. If Ronaldo does break the record, it might take a while before another player comes close to equaling that feat.
