Fans have voted Cristiano Ronaldo’s thunderbolt strike against Lyon as the best goal of the 2019/20 Champions League season.

While a dream sixth Champions League title didn’t come Ronaldo’s way, the Juventus ace didn’t leave empty-handed either upon scoring the best goal of the competition earlier this month.

Over 400,000 fans voted his insane long-range strike against Lyon as the Nissan Goal of the Tournament on uefa.com, and what a banger it was!

The Portuguese forward fired a swerving left-footed shot from outside the box right into the top right-hand corner to give Juventus hope of launching a comeback in their last-16 tie.

Anthony Lopes may have got a touch on the ball, but CR7’s bullet was too hot for the Lyon keeper to handle.

The goal not only leveled the aggregate scoreline to 2-2, but it saw Ronaldo set a new record as Juventus’ highest goalscorer in a single campaign on 37 goals in 46 games. However, Lyon won the tie on away goals in the end.

Cristiano’s Juventus teammate Juan Cuadrado, meanwhile, completed the top-three with his goal in the club’s opening game of the group stages against Atletico Madrid, which ended in a 2-2 draw.

Below is the list of top 5 goals that fans voted for on UEFA.
