Cristiano Ronaldo took a medical as part of his €112m transfer to Juventus from Real Madrid a fortnight ago and the results that came from the examination had left the club officials stunned
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner decided to call time on his glorious nine-year spell at Real earlier this month in favour of a new challenge at Juventus with the Italian giants currently searching for their first Champions League crown in 22 years.
But, despite the stature of a player like Ronaldo, some questioned the wisdom of Juventus for having spent €112m on a 33-year-old, who they felt may have been better off sealing a more lucrative move to China this summer.
Ronaldo has often insisted that age is not a factor for him and recently revealed that he has the physical stamina of a 23-year-old and hinted he may continue playing until 41.
“Right now I have a biological age of 23,” said Ronaldo in May.
“I’ve still got a long time left, I can keep playing until I’m 41. I’m feeling good, happy, I can’t complain.
And it turns out that it is not just talk after all with the Daily Mirror reporting that Ronaldo’s medical results revealed that he has physical capacity of a 20-year-old.
The results gathered after tests were taken in regard to these three things:
- Body fat: Ronaldo has seven per cent body fat, which is 3% less than an average professional.
- Muscular mass: Has 50%, which is four per cent higher than an average professional.
- Speed: Ronaldo recently topped the World Cup charts in regards to speed with a high of 34km/h.
