Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister has shared a heartwarming message on social media after being discharged from the hospital.

Katia Aveiro is safe and back at home with her family after being admitted to the hospital with coronavirus.

The 44-year-old singer tested positive for COVID-19 on July 17 and had been self-isolating. But her condition deteriorated last Friday as the virus caused pneumonia – an infection that inflames the air sacs in one or both lungs – and she had to go to the Dr. Nelio Mendonca Hospital in Funchal, Madeira.

But Katia has returned home and posted a video of herself reuniting with her daughter, Valentina, along with a message for her Instagram followers.

“Only God knows what I’ve been waiting for this moment….I’m already home”, wrote Katia on Instagram.

“Gratitude is my feeling… Thank you, God. Thanks to all the professionals who crossed this path a little scary. Thank you family, always close to me [even far away]. And thank you for the incredible affection I’ve received these days.

“Love you. The fight continues but we remain firm and strong.”

Ronaldo himself tested positive for COVID-19 back in October but was asymptomatic and, therefore, suffered no known side effects.
