Dejan Kulusevski opened up on how Cristiano Ronaldo inspires him and how he hopes to help his new Juventus teammate out this season.
Kulusevski is one of the latest young talents to join Juventus, having agreed to a €35m transfer in January. He went to Parma on loan for the second half of last season but has now finally linked up with Ronaldo and co.
The 20-year-old should prove a useful addition for Andrea Pirlo, even if his opportunities are likely to be restricted. His versatility, for example, could prove a most useful asset as he can play in central midfield, wing, and center-forward roles.
But while chances of making the line-up right away may prove challenging, having Ronaldo as a teammate can only help further Kulusevski’s development.
And the Swede, who recently hailed Cristiano as the world’s best player, spoke again on the Portuguese’s relationship with the entire Bianconeri squad and how his words alone inspire everyone.
“Cristiano is fantastic, he’s very nice, he talks to everyone, even about things off the pitch,” said Kulusevski during his introductory press conference as a Juventus player.
“His words are like petrol, I’m lucky to play with him and I hope I can help him.”
Asked on his hopes in Turin for this season, Kulusevski said: “Every day is a war, you must always be at 100% (at Juventus).
“You can’t come to the pitch and not be concentrated because everyone would notice immediately.
“I think I can give them energy; I want to have fun when I enter the pitch. I run a lot and I will do everything to help my team win.
“I’ll play where the coach puts me, I can play I’m many roles. Pirlo’s advice can put me in a position to make a difference. I’ll do everything for him.”
