Reports of a potential move to Manchester City continue to grow for Cristiano Ronaldo, who seeks an exit from Juventus.
Wayne Rooney canât see a âproudâ Manchester United legend like Cristiano Ronaldo join Manchester City.
Ronaldo wants to leave Juventus before the end of the transfer window deadline on August 31. Manchester City are interested and could reportedly offer him a two-year contract. According to Sky Sports, the Citizens could make an official offer within âthe next 24 hoursâ.
But Rooney, who won three Premier League titles and a Champions League alongside Ronaldo at Old Trafford, reckons his former teammate wouldnât risk his United legacy by joining a rival club.
đ´ âI canât see it. Cristianoâs got a very good legacy at #MUFC & I know how proud he is as a player & a person.â
â âI could never play for #LFC or Man City, but everyoneâs different.â

âI think Cristiano has got a very good legacy at Manchester United and I know how proud he is as a player and a person,â Rooney told talkSPORT.
âI canât see [him joining City], but itâs football so you never know. There have been a few that have done it, but no one at Cristianoâs level. Obviously Peter Schmeichel and Andy Cole, but I just canât see that as an option for him really.
âFinancially, of course, he doesnât need to do it. I think itâs more likely that itâs PSG he goes to.â
Ronaldo played for United between 2003 and 2009. He made 292 appearances at Old Trafford, managing 118 goals and 69 assists. Ironically, his last goal for the club was against City in a Premier League match in May 2009.
