Sadio Mane could have gone to Bayern Munich but somehow according to Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, they missed out.
The Senegal international has been in sensational form since he made the move to Liverpool with Jurgen Klopp.
But apparently things could have been very different if Bayern Munich had got their affairs in order.
Mane arrived on the European scene, back in 2011 with Metz where although he only managed one goal in 25 games, he attracted the interest in RB Salzburg.
In Austria, he was far more prolific and earned a move to the Premier League and Southampton.
His stay at St. Marys was a short two years before Liverpool came calling.
It is unclear as to when Bayern missed out on Mane.
But speaking to Bild, Rummenigge believes that it was an opportunity missed by his club.
“We had an interest in Mane, but somehow it didn’t work out.”
“He then went to Southampton and later to Liverpool. A shame.”
