Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly lined up a move for Lazio striker Ciro Immobile this summer as part of his revolution at Everton.
Replacing Marco Silva as Everton manager in December was a surprising move for Ancelotti, who previously coached the likes of Real Madrid and AC Milan across his stunning career.
The three-time Champions League winner was tasked with leading Everton to the top of English and European football.
It was a pretty steep aim for the Blues, who last won a European trophy in 1985. They also haven’t competed in the Champions League itself since a third qualifying round exit in 2005/06. But with ‘Carletto’ at the helm, anything is possible.
The Italian enjoyed a strong start to his reign in charge at Goodison Park, establishing Everton as top-six challengers by February.
Fast forward to last weekend’s season finale, however, Everton finished just 12th in the league. In fact, they won just three of their last 12 games.
So now Ancelotti is determined to strengthen his squad and wants full control of all transfer activity, with 90min claiming Immobile is at the top of his wishlist for a summer move.
The Lazio striker has been sensational this season, scoring 34 goals in 35 Serie A games. He’s also level with Robert Lewandowski at the top of the European Golden Shoe race. Thus, he’ll be a massive coup for Everton.
To be fair on Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, they both scored a club-best 15 goals. But next behind them was Bernard on just three goals. Everton, on the other hand, only scored nine times in their last 12 league games.
Jeremie Boga and Wilfried Zaha are also on Ancelotti’s wishlist.
