Reports are coming in that Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United have struck a deal that matches both club’s respective wishes of the Jadon Sancho deal.

Jadon Sancho to Manchester United is no secret. However, whether the deal will ever actually take place has been debatable.

Last summer it was said that Sancho told Ole Gunnar Solskjaer he would prefer to wait and make sure United were in the Champions League.

The Norwegian understood that and has now delivered on his side of the deal. United finished the season third, all be it well behind Liverpool and City but they will be playing Champions League football next season.

Ed Woodward has no problem paying big wages, so meeting the young England winger’s financial demands was never going to be an issue.

Money is not an issue for Manchester United under normal circumstances. However, these are far from normal circumstances that football finds itself in. Even the mega-rich are having to watch what they spend after the costly COVID-19 lockdown.

All that is really left was for the two clubs to agree on a price. Dortmund apparently wants £100 million no matter what, whereas United will not stump up that much cash this summer on one player.

However, if reports from the various sources in the UK are to be believed a compromise has been reached.

The Independent believes that Dortmund will take £60 million upfront and the other £40 million to be paid in very achievable add-ons.

We await official confirmation, but it sounds logical and would certainly suit both clubs.

What do you think, will Jadon Sancho become a United player this summer?

Sancho may already be dropping hints of a done deal!
