Following the apparent collapse of the Jadon Sancho deal, Manchester United is rumored to now want Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele instead.
Jadon Sancho looks set to spend at least one more season in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund. The German side claim that the deadline for him to leave has passed and things will stay as they were for another year.
This has left Manchester United with a dilemma. Do they wait another year for a player they have been courting for almost two years already, or do they turn their attention elsewhere?
According to sources close to US outlet ESPN, the Red Devils are on the hunt for another target. They suggest a deal with Barcelona for the injury troubled French star Ousmane Dembele is in the works.
It is thought that the two clubs are talking about a one-season loan deal with an obligation to buy at the end of it. Dembele is a proven talent provided he can stay fit.
The loan deal and subsequent cash payment would help both clubs.
Cash strapped Barca would be getting a hefty wage of their weekly expenses. While United secure a young World Cup winner and keeping hold of their reduced cash in hand after coronavirus, to spend on other targets.
