According to Gazzetta Dello Sport and The Liverpool Echo, the defender Dejan Lovren has agreed to join Roma.
The Croatian international centre-back has fallen down ranks in Jurgen Klopp’s side.
The Italian side has reportedly registered their interest in the Liverpool player. After missing out on Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld.
Roma was apparently undecided on the Belgian. After his reduced, 25 million pounds buy out clause expired they were priced out of any deal.
Liverpool and Roma have a history of striking up deals. Mo Salah and Alisson Becker both making the move from Rome to Merseyside.
It is thought Liverpool were wanting a fee in the region of 18 million pounds. Roma value Lovern at more like 15 million.
There is not too much difference between the two sides, so a deal is likely to be struck.
Obviously, it would depend on the player agreeing to terms with his potential new side. Although it is thought he is keen to move on.
Lovren only made 18 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool last term. He wants to be playing every week.
He arrived at Liverpool in 2014 for 20 million and has made 170 appearances for the Premier League runners-up.
Now considered the fourth-choice centre-back now. Behind Joel Matip, Joe Gomez and defensive linchpin Virgil van Dijk.
With the pinnacle of his international career coming in reaching the final of the 2018 finals. He has been capped by his country 53 times.
At 30 years fo age, he will feel this could be his last big move. Plus if he wants to stay in international team contention he will need to be playing on a regular basis.
