Napoli has put a huge offer on the table in an attempt to sign Icardi.

According to Italian sports outlet Calciomercato.com, Napoli is determined to demonstrate their intentions to Inter and Mr. and Mrs. Icardi.

The one-time Inter Milan captain has been at the forefront of much speculation this summer.

He was rather publicly and embarrassingly stripped of the captaincy and demoted from the team last season.

That paved the way for an almost certain departure from the San Siro.

It was perhaps thought to be one of the simplest transfers of the summer.

The club and its new manager Antonio Conte had no use for the player. They went ahead and signed a new striker to replace him, Romelu Lukaku.

The Nerazzurri have tried to include him deals to buy other players. To no avail. They have had some interest, but nobody meeting their valuation.

Alexis Sanchez's injury opened up a world of problems for Antonio Conte, who is now left with only two classic strikers in the squad.

What has made things even more difficult, is that the player himself, will not leave to go just anywhere.

As we brought you here at Ronaldo.com, his wife has had an input in the decision. They are searching for a city that matches, their social expectations as well as their career needs.

He is definitely a problem to Inter, but they had been hoping to turn that problem into a tangible asset to help their own transfer activity.

Napoli was initially ruled out by both the player and his wife. They would not even consider the move to Naples.

The Neapolitan side is hoping that the mega offer to Inter of 70 million Euros will demonstrate their desire to acquire the striker.

Thus convincing him to listen to their offer. It is believed they are willing to pay him a sum of 9 million Euros a year. With the opportunity for further bonuses.
