Rumour: Neymar transfer from PSG to Barca is off

The most protracted transfer of the summer appears to have fallen apart, as PSG and Barcelona appear to far away in the player’s valuation.

According to mundodeportivo.com Barcelona has rejected PSG’s latest counteroffer.

This ultimately leaves the clubs in a stalemate situation. It appears to all intense and purposes the deal will simply not happen.

As Ronaldo.com brought you earlier, there have been offers and counters offers with all the wantaway Brazilian superstar’s suitors.

It appeared earlier int he week, that Real Madrid was simply content with walking away. Thet got the distinct impression that the player preferred a return to the Camp Nou.

They were not going to break the bank for a player that had other preferences to the great Los Blancos.

This left Barcelona in the driving seat.

But with every offer came a counter offer.

We have had loan deals, options to buy in 12 months. There has been the talk of 40 million-plus players, 100 million-plus players.

Now we are up to 130 million, one player one loan plus a two-player make weight.

Neymar,

It’s understood, PSG countered Barcelona’s last 100 million-plus Dembele offer, with a 130 million-plus Raktic and  Todibo plus Dembele on loan for a year.

Barcelona it appears has had enough.

Or are they playing hardball to draw PSG back with an improved counteroffer?

After all the Parisian don’t want to get stuck with a player that wants out. They also need enough time to secure a replacement or make sure the eal includes someone suitable.

There was talk that Dembele was the problem in the deal as he didn’t want to leave Barcelona.

But apparently a call for Thomas Tuchel telling him to come for a year and try Paris helped pave the way for that portion of the deal.

It appears the deal is simply too rich, even for Barcelona.

With around 72 hours left of the transfer window. There is still time for compromise.

But as of right now, Neymar is not leaving Paris. Well, not for Barcelona anyway.
