After certain players were offered as a makeweight in the Neymar deal, Barcelona now faces a problematic dressing room.

One time Barcelona hero Neymar made it clear this summer he wanted out of Paris, and PSG confirmed if the price was right he could leave.

On hearing this news, Barcelona was bound and determined to make every effort to bring back their wayward son.

The price has been reported from anywhere from 200 million Euros to 300 million. Either way, when the possibility of a deal came about, Barca had already forked out over 200 million Euros on their initial summer recruits.

Barcelona knew that at best thye had 100 million Euros in cash and that the rest of the deal would have to be made up of either payments or players.

PSG didn’t want payments, that was clear from the get-go. They paid 222 million in one lump sum and thats hw they wanted to recoup their investment.

So what players? This is now where according to Spanish outlet Marca the problems have arisen in the dressing room.

Ousmane Dembele was perhaps the most linked player as part of any swap deal.

As much as the young Frenchman insisted he wanted to stay and fight for his place, the more he was part of a concoction of proposed deals.

Then there was Ivan Rakitic who has been linked with Barcelona exit all summer.

Initially, he was told leaving was out of the question. Ernesto Valverde saw him as an integral part of the squad and he could not leave.

Only to thrown into the Neymar mix as an act of desperation from Barcelona.

The clubs apparent fixation on reuniting Messi, Suarez, and Neymar at all costs has left a bitter taste in the mouth of many at Barca.

If the deal had gone through then those offended would not be a problem.

The problem is that the deal never happened. All those who were ultimately told of their insignificance in the Barcelona bigger picture, are not happy!
