Manchester United have rejected an offer from AS Roma for Chris Smalling.
Smalling is on loan at Roma, after seeing United sign Harry Maguire and no promise from Ole Gunnar Solskajer of regular first-team football.
He arrived in Rome, unable to play due to a lack of fitness after recovering from injury.
But since he made his debut for Paulo Fonseca’s side, he has become one of the first names on the team sheet.
United are in no hurry to cash in though.
According to reports from Italy, they believe that United have rejected Roma’s initial offer of 15 million Euros.
The Daily Mail in England suggest the Red Devils are holding out for a figure closer to 20 million. They believe that AC Milan are also interested and could thus start a bidding war.
United are holding out for top dollar if Roma are to secure the services of Chris Smalling! 💰https://t.co/Ulf0UTLN2b
