Both English clubs are keen on signing the youngster but Ryan Kent has been advised to shun interest and join Rangers instead by Kris Boyd.
Ryan Kent has an amazing season with the Rangers in the Scottish Premier League. The youngster was loaned out to the Glasgow giants by Liverpool. It was the most productive spell in the 22 year old’s career under the guidance of Liverpool legend, Steven Gerrard.
The Englishman scored six goals and provided nine assists. He was also named PFA Scotland’s Young Player of the Year based on his performances. Now that he’s back with his parent club, Ryan Kent could be set out for another loan move.
Steven Gerrard is a big fan of the youngster and has already said that he wants Ryan Kent back for another season. However, it might prove tricky since the youngster is also being watched by newly-promoted Aston Villa and Leeds United. Nonetheless, Steven Gerrard is hopeful that the youngster will return soon.
And the club’s former striker, Kris Boyd says that Ryan Kent needs to return to Rangers if he wants to become a Liverpool/
The Kilmarnock striker told Sky Sports News: ”If Ryan Kent is going to be a Liverpool player, up here is perfect for him to learn the way that Liverpool play because Rangers are doing the same thing.
“In terms of their possession – they’re always on the front foot, they want to get their wingers on the ball to create chances and score goals.
“There’s no doubt Ryan Kent excelled in that environment last year. Whether he can do it again next year is a different question.
“But I think he’s a talented boy who will go far in the game and I think to learn the game, Rangers is the perfect environment for him.”
