Sadio Mane reveals secret to success

The Senegalese international had a phenomenal season with Liverpool and says that he worked on quite a few things that helped him improve.

Liverpool had a successful season and part of the reason was the form of Sadio Mane. The talented forward scored 26 goals in all competitions and also shared the Golden Boot after scoring 22 goals in the league.

The Reds nearly lifted their first ever English Premier League title and finished second to eventual champions Manchester City. It was a different story in the Champions League however. The residents of Anfield lifted their sixth European title following a 1-0 win over Tottenham.

And Sadio Mane says that the future is looking really exciting for the club and added that something special is on the horizon.

“We have a great, great team,” said the forward as reported by the Daily Star. “The future can be exciting, for sure. We’ll try to do everything to create something special.”

Mane says that the target for the club next season would be to improve further. Mane also wants to score more goals next season and revealed that he had to work really hard on his finishing.

“To be honest, I think I improved a lot in my finishing,” he said.

“It was positive because I can say I improved every season, which is important in my development. I will try to work harder and harder to get better and better.”

Mane also said that winning at any cost was another reason why Liverpool almost lifted the league title.

They played a big part in the season,” Mane added.

“[There were] very difficult games at home and they were always here. Keep on going because we need you! It’s very important.

“It makes the club special and it’s really important. Sometimes it can be a bad day and if the fans give you more motivation, it’s positive for the team and for them as well.”
