Mohamed Salah is a player of great quality but can’t compare to the ever-green duo of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, says Javier Zanetti.
Inter Milan and Argentina legend, Javier Zanetti, praised Mohamed Salah but said he can’t be compared with footballing greats Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Liverpool have been in very poor form lately, losing six of their last eight games and could drop to ninth place if Aston Villa earn four points from their two missing games.
Despite the Reds struggles this season, Salah has been consistent to a certain level. He is currently leading the race for the Premier League Golden Boot with 17 goals, ahead of Bruno Fernandes and Harry Kane with 16 goals.
Salah has been consistent for the Reds since joining them nearly four years ago. In 191 official appearances, he has scored 119 goals, becoming the club’s 12th all-time goal-scorer.
Five-time Serie A champion, Javier Zanetti, believes that the Egyptian is one of the best players in the world but says he can’t be compared with Messi or Ronaldo.
“He is a very good forward, he does a great job with his team and the Egypt national team, and now he is one of the world’s best football stars,” he told OnTime Sport.
“You can’t compare him with Ronaldo and Messi, each one of them has strong atteibutes, we are talking about three of the best players in the world,” he concluded.
Reports regarding Salah moving away from Liverpool have increased again lately. The Egyptian has remained coy on his future but has refused to close to the door on an exit from the club.
