Salah is just like any player: Egypt boss

According to Mexican coach Javier Aguirre, the Egyptian superstar is just like the remaining 22 players of the squad.

The 2019 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations will start this Friday in Egypt.

And for the Pharaohs, is a very important chance to celebrate at home, and to take advantage that they have the most powerful footballer in Africa right now: Mohamed Salah.

Which is why Egypt national team coach Javier Aguirre has made it clear he prefers to praise the entire team.

“Mohamed Salah is a player in my team, just like the remaining 22 players. All of them are Egypt’s players,” Aguirre was quoted by Goal.

“Reaching this stage is very important, Salah is like the rest of the players and has equal chances, but he is also a very special player.”

Djamel Belmadi rates Algeria’s AFCON title hopes as 50/50

Algeria manager Djamel Belmadi believes his side have a "fifty-fifty chance" of defeating Senegal in tonight's Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final.

“Zimbabwe deserves to be in the competition, they are a strong side. Our first game will be very important because it’s the opening game of the tournament, which will put pressure on us,” he added.

“However, we will play our usual game against Zimbabwe because we respect them very much. We prepared very well for this difficult game, which we must win.”

“Right now, we are only thinking of the Zimbabwe game. The four teams will seek to win every game to qualify,” Aguirre concluded.
