Mohamed Salah and Marcelo have been nominated for the Champions League Player of the Week award
Salah produced an inspirational performance for Liverpool in their 5-2 win against his former club AS Roma on Tuesday’s first leg of their semi-final tie at Anfield.
The Egypt international scored a brace in the first-half and assisted his teammates Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino after the break with Liverpool taking a three-goal advantage into next week’s second leg at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
While Marcelo played a key role in Real’s 2-1 win against Bayern Munich with the Brazilian equalising for Los Blancos after Joshua Kimmich’s opening goal for the hosts at the Allianz Arena.
The 29-year-old has now scored three goals in his past five matches in the Champions League, which is as much as he made in his previous 53 appearances in the competition combined.
Both of the stars contributions to their respective clubs have been recognised by the UEFA and the winner will be decided by an online poll.
