Mohamed Salah has revealed that he is “very happy” at Liverpool and promises that it is “just the start” after collecting the Football Writers’ Association (FWA) Footballer of the Year and Professional Footballers’ Association Player of the Year awards
The Egypt international has had a sensational debut campaign at Anfield and has scored 43 goals across all competitions this season for Liverpool.
These impressive performances have reportedly caught the eye of Real Madrid, but Salah is adamant that he currently has no plans to leave Liverpool after just one year.
“I’m very happy here and everything is fine,” said the 25-year-old, according to SportsMole.
“I have got ambitions for the future, with Liverpool.
“We had a great season and now we are in the Champions League final, and everyone is excited. It is just the start. This is my first year here and it is the same for some other players. We have had an unbelievable year. It is just the beginning.
“I am very happy to win these awards. I had a good season but, without the help of my teammates, it would have been very difficult. We all try to help each other. We all try to give more and we all try to push each other.
“We are a team who fight for each other every day. I work hard to help my team. Now I want to finish the season in a good way.”
Liverpool will hope that Salah can add to his 31-goal tally in the Premier League this weekend with the club in need of at least a draw against Brighton this weekend to secure a top-four spot.
