Unpaid dues from Bruno Fernandes big money transfer to Manchester United has seen Sampdoria report the player’s former side Sporting to FIFA.
Bruno Fernandes is already doing well in Manchester United colors. But it would appear two of his former sides are still in a slight battle over the midfielder.
The 25-year-old made a €46.5m switch to join the Red Devils. That amount could also rise to €80m depending on bonuses.
Fernandes spent one season at Sampdoria before he joined Sporting in the summer of 2017.
And as per contract agreements, Sampdoria reportedly have a share in the proceeds Sporting received from Manchester United.
Italian publication Il Secolo XIX c/t by Football-Italia claim the Italian outfit are owed €4.6m in three installments and have yet to receive the first payment.
Due to that, Sampdoria have reportedly called on FIFA to intervene, with Sporting maintaining they have nothing to pay. Sporting claim Fernandes signed a new contract in 2018, which nullifies his contract from 2017.
That would be of no business to Fernandes, who has fit in like a duck in water since he joined United. He has already received praise from a number of club legends.
