Jadon Sancho was in superb form as Borussia Dortmund beat Bayern Munich 2-0 in the season-opening German Supercup on Saturday.
Sancho was involved in the first goal as he brilliantly set up Paco Alcacer before securing the winner with the second goal of the night.
Bayern couldn’t respond after going two goals down and were guilty of missing clear cut chances that would have reduced the deficit.
The win would be a morale booster for Dortmund who were pipped to the Bundesliga title by Bayern despite holding on to the top spot for a large part of the campaign.
Dortmund fans would be hoping to end Bayern’s unprecedented seven-year reign as German champion after laying down the marker tonight.
You could trace back to 2012 the last time Dortmund won the title under Klopp and would be hoping the summer signings would boost their squad.
