The forward didn’t have a good time with Internazionale Milan in the Italian Serie A but is happy at the Brazilian club
22-year-old Gabriel Barbosa started his career in his native Brazil with Santos in 2013.
He played there until 2016, and then he was sold to Italian Lega Serie A club Internazionale Milan.
He didn’t fit at the Nerazzurri and was loaned to Portugal’s Benfica, where he also didn’t play much.
Now he’s back in Santos as a loanee, and the club’s president Jose Carlos Peres says they want to keep him.
“We’re talking to the agents and Inter,” Peres was quoted by Football Italia.
“Santos are doing our best to hold on to him for another season.”
“He’s a lad who grew up in our youth team, he’s a goalscorer, he has an important value and the club recognizes that,” he added.
“He wants to stay.”
