Serie A minnows Sassuolo are determined to hold on to former Chelsea ace Jeremie Boga despite interest from several top clubs.

Jeremie Boga left the Chelsea U23 program in the summer of 2018 for the Italian side Sassuolo.

The 23-year-old Ivory Coast international has developed well with the Italians, sparking talk of Chelsea exercising a buyback option.

While he does not appear to be part of Frank Lampard’s plans, there has also been speculation linking the likes of Napoli and Roma with a move for him.

However, it now appears that Sassuolo is determined to hang on to their prized asset.

Speaking to Rai TV Sassuolo chairman Giovanni Carnevali said:

“Boga has grown a lot, we must give credit to coach Roberto De Zerbi who made him grow.”

“He is requested by various clubs but we intend to keep him.”

“We do not want to sell him because we will continue in the project that owner Dr. Squinzi had in mind.”

“Boga will be a Neroverde also next year.”

While Boga is a great talent for the future, he is still some way off the very best Serie A has to offer.
