A former teammate of Kasper Schmeichel’s believes he would go to Manchester United no matter what the circumstances.

Kasper Schmeichel has followed in his father’s footsteps becoming to top-class Premier League goalkeeper. The Leicester City shot-stopper has lifted the league title like his dad and represented the Danish national team too.

While it is true his trophy cabinet is not as full as father Peter’s he has certainly represented the family name well.

However, there is apparently one thing that dad did which Kasper is desperate to emulate, and that is to don the famous jersey of Manchester United.

Watching his father between the sticks at the Theatre of Dreams left the younger Schmeichel a huge fan of the Red Devils and with a dream to play for them.

According to a former teammate, Mikkel Bischoff no matter the circumstances if the opportunity came for him to play for United Kasper Schmeichel would take it.

Speaking to Ekstra Bladet, he said:

“United will certainly not be deterred by Schmeichel’s age of 33 years. The most successful goalkeepers at the club in recent years have been well into their thirties. He can easily play three or four good years there.”

“Schmeichel is a huge United fan. He always has been and always will be, it will be the biggest dream come true if he were to succeed in joining United.”

“If Kasper gets the opportunity to play just ten games for United, then he jumps. It’s simply so big for him. He is such a big fan that he will do anything to get to that club.”

Let’s picture this United fans. Romero and De Gea leave, Henderson returns with Schmeichel as support.
