Manchester United want to add Jadon Sancho to their ranks but Paul Scholes believes the Tottenham forward would be a better bet.

Every day the Red Devils get closer and closer to bringing back Jadon Sancho to England. His arrival at Old Trafford gets them one up over Manchester City, where Sancho was groomed as a youngster.

Dimitar Berbatov has had a change of heart and believes the BVB attacker will be an exciting addition. Paul Scoles has similar sentiments about him but believes United should focus other areas of the pitch first.

According to the legendary midfielder, a center-forward should be added first and the services of Harry Kane should be secured.

“I don’t think it’s a major priority,” Daily Star quoted Scholes in an interview with BT Sport.

“Sancho is a top-quality footballer, he would improve any team like Liverpool, Manchester City, Real Madrid.

“His stats prove that. He would be a major asset to the team.

“We do already have three wide forwards that are similar, possibly not quite as good but potentially they could be.”

“If that’s Harry Kane you’re talking about rather than Sancho, I’d be more keen to sign him,” Scholes added.

“They need a No.9, and Harry Kane would be that man for me.”

Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial have taken the responsibility of scoring goals for the Red Devils.

Rashford was rested against LASK Linz, while Martial made the starting lineup. The French forward scored the second goal of the match to comfortably secure the win in theri Europa League fixture.
