Paul Scholes took a jab at previous Manchester United managers Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho, branding them “in it for themselves.”

There has been a lot said about the capabilities of Scholes’s former teammate Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the current United manager.

But Scholes jumped to the Norweigian’s defense, insisting he is a United man and not a yes man. Putting the club first unlike his predecessors.

Speaking as a pundit on BT Sports, before United’s Europa League victory over Partizan Belgrade, Scholes stated Solskjaer has United’s best interests as his priority, unlike others.

He said:

“Ole is single-minded and he knows what he wants,”

“He is a Manchester United man and he will be trying to do his best to bring the club back to where it should be.”

“We’ve had big previous managers like Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho.

“They have been just a bit more interested in themselves rather than the football club.”
