Tuesday will be Bastian Schweinsteiger testimonial match.

And the Bayern Munich legend has said he is ready for this moment.

The 24-year-old former Germany national team captain will play one half with Bayern’s jersey, and the other with Chicago Fire in the Allianz Arena.

“I somewhat underestimated that when I retired from the national team,” admitted Schweinsteiger as he told Vanguard.

“I felt lots of emotions, you have so many images in your head and let yourself be led by that.”

“There are already so many memories coming back up,” he added.

“It was a great time, Bayern is always in my heart, but I know it’ll be emotional for me.”

The footballer received on Sunday the Bavarian Order of Merit, and he was “overwhelmed, I accept the medal on behalf of all Bayern fans – many of whom deserve this.”

“At the time, I did not have the chance to say goodbye, so I’m very grateful that FC Bayern is giving me a farewell match.”
