Bastian Schweinsteiger has his eye on a return to football and his wife believes a step into management would be great for him.

German international Schweinsteiger recently called time on an illustrious career after a final spell in the MLS.

The former Bayern Munich and Manchester United midfielder has won it all as a player. From the World Cup to the Champions League, eight Bundesliga titles an FA Cup, and the list goes on.

The retired legend admits he misses football, and given the right opportunity would love to get into management. This is something his wife feels he would excel at.

Speaking to Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung he said:

“If something interesting was to come up at some point that I would enjoy, I’d think about it.”

“But whenever I do something, I want to win and achieve something.”

His wife, a retired Grand Slam-winning tennis player Ana knows her husband would be a success.

She added:

“I’m convinced that Basti can become a great coach one day.”

“He has a passion for it, is good with people, and knows a lot about football.”

Bastian Schweinsteiger has certainly attained the status of legend in the football world, but how much do you really know about him?
